Homeopathy

What is it?
Homeopathy is a system of treatment which has been used for over 200 years and is practiced by doctors throughout the world. In France for example homeopathic medicines are used by approximately one third of general practitioners. Diagnosis and investigation of the illness are just as important for doctors treating homeopathically as it is for those treating by orthodox (allopathic) medicine.

What can it treat?
The simple answer is almost anything that orthodox medicine treats. Obvious exceptions are surgical cases (although the need for this can sometimes be avoided), deficiency states such as thyroid problems, diabetes, vitamin or mineral deficiencies. It can treat many conditions such as colds and flu that orthodox medicine is often unable to help. Many conditions treated by antibiotics e.g. tonsillitis, ear infections, chest infections, are treated homeopathically. In particular, chronic diseases e.g. rheumatoid arthritis, colitis can be treated without having to resort to powerful drugs with problematic side effects.
