Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an established natural method of treatment for painful conditions. Recent scientific advances have helped to explain the way in which it works.

Treatment involves the insertion of very fine sterile needles through the skin. Insertion of the needles can cause a slight pricking sensation but once in position the needles are painless and often produce a relaxing sensation. Acupuncture is effective for a number of conditions including those involving muscles, bones and joints - for example arthritis, rheumatism, sciatica, back and neck problems, frozen shoulder, 'trapped nerve', disc problems and tennis elbow. The list also includes anxiety, allergies, abdominal and period problems, obesity and giving up smoking. It can also help to improve a person's sense of well being.

The British Medical Acupuncture Society is restricted to experienced acupuncturists who are fully medically qualified.
